I’ve recently embarked on a home automation project that combines both Lutron Radio RA 2 and Z-Wave devices, and I’m thrilled to share my experience! 
Why the Mix?
Lutron has always been known for its reliability and sleek design, which was a big draw for me. However, Z-Wave offers a cost-effective solution and flexibility that I couldn’t ignore, especially for devices like garage door openers and locks.
Challenges and Solutions
Integrating these two systems wasn’t without its hurdles. Initially, I struggled with getting the Z-Wave devices to communicate seamlessly with my Lutron system. After some research and trial and error, I discovered that using a smart hub that supports both protocols was the key. I ended up choosing the HomeSeer hub, which provided the necessary bridge and made my setup much smoother.
A Touch of Automation
One of my favorite setups is using double taps on my Z-Wave switches to trigger specific routines, like turning on the lights and lowering the blinds in the evening. It’s these little touches that make home automation feel truly magical!
