I’ve been using Milight bulbs for a while now, and integrating them with Home Assistant has been a fantastic experience! However, I recently encountered an issue where my integration stopped working after updating to version 64.+. The error message was quite technical, but after some research and reaching out to the community, I managed to resolve it. Here’s my journey and some tips for anyone looking to set this up!
Initially, I was worried it was a hardware issue, but it turned out to be a software compatibility problem. Updating the limitlessled component and ensuring all dependencies were correctly installed did the trick. I also discovered that organizing my bulbs into groups in Home Assistant makes controlling them much easier, especially for creating scenes like ‘Dinner Mode’ or ‘Movie Night’.
One thing I’d recommend is to explore the fade and brightness settings in the configuration. These settings really enhance the user experience, allowing for smooth transitions between different lighting scenarios. If you’re new to this, start with a small setup and gradually expand as you get comfortable with the system.
I’m thrilled to have my lights fully integrated and working seamlessly with my smart home setup. It’s been a great way to automate my home and make my daily routines more efficient. If you’re considering Milight, I highly recommend giving it a try—it’s definitely a worthwhile investment for your smart home journey! ![]()
