Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent success in setting up a multi-room audio system using Eneby 20 and Chromecast Audio. It’s been a bit of a journey, but the result is fantastic!
I’ve always loved having music throughout my house, but getting it to work seamlessly across different rooms was a challenge. After some research, I decided to go with the Eneby 20 speakers paired with Chromecast Audio via a 3.5mm jack. The idea was to have each speaker in a different room, all controlled from my phone or laptop.
Initially, I faced some issues with the speakers not staying active. I tried setting up an automation to keep them alive by playing a silent MP3 every two minutes, but it just didn’t work consistently. After some troubleshooting and adjusting the settings, I finally got it right!

- Firmware Updates: Ensuring all devices were on the latest firmware made a big difference.
- Automation Tweaks: Instead of a silent MP3, I switched to a very low-volume track that cycles every few minutes—this kept the Chromecast active without being intrusive.
Now, I can control each speaker individually or group them together for a whole-house experience. It’s amazing how much this has enhanced my home entertainment setup!
