Successfully Integrating Multiple Brands for Smart Washer Alerts

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my recent success in integrating multiple smart home devices to create a seamless automation system. My goal was to receive a Telegram notification whenever my washer finished a cycle, and I’m thrilled to say it worked out perfectly!

I started by connecting my TP-Link HS110 smart plug to the washer. This allowed me to monitor the power usage, which is crucial for detecting when the washer is on or off. The HS110’s reliable current monitoring capabilities made it an excellent choice for this project.

Next, I set up an IFTTT applet to send a Telegram message when the washer’s power consumption dropped to standby levels, indicating the cycle had completed. The process involved some trial and error, particularly in fine-tuning the power thresholds to avoid false triggers. But once everything was configured, the system worked like clockwork!

What’s been most impressive is how well different brands have worked together in my setup. The TP-Link plug seamlessly integrates with my Amazon Echo, and the Govee lights I use for notifications add a nice visual touch. It’s reassuring to see that these devices can communicate effectively despite being from different manufacturers.

I’d like to thank the community for all the helpful tips and troubleshooting advice. This project wouldn’t have been possible without the wealth of knowledge shared here. If anyone has questions or needs guidance, feel free to reach out—I’m happy to help!

Happy automating! :red_car::sparkles:
