Successfully Integrating Multiple Generic IP Cameras with Vera

I’ve been on a bit of a journey trying to integrate multiple generic IP cameras with my Vera system. Initially, I managed to get one camera up and running using the Generic IP Camera Luup plugin, but as I tried adding more, I hit a wall—it seemed like the plugin was limited to just one camera. Frustrated but determined, I started digging deeper into the Vera community forums and documentation, and I’m thrilled to share that I’ve figured it out!

The key was realizing that each camera needs its own instance of the plugin. It wasn’t immediately obvious, but by creating separate plugin instances for each camera, I was able to successfully add and manage multiple IP cameras within Vera. This opens up a whole new level of security and monitoring capabilities for my home!

I’d love to hear if anyone else has had similar experiences or has tips for getting the most out of Vera’s integration options. It’s been a great learning experience, and I’m excited to see what other possibilities Vera has in store for home automation enthusiasts like myself!
