Successfully Integrating Multiple Smart Devices Across Two Networks

Hello everyone! I hope you’re all having a great day. I wanted to share my recent experience with integrating multiple Shelly devices across two separate networks. As a newcomer to the world of smart home technology, this was quite a challenge, but I’m thrilled to say I figured it out!

Initially, I was unsure if it was even possible to control Shelly devices from a single smartphone when they’re spread across two different networks. Each network has its own router, and they’re located in separate rooms. I gave it a try a while back, but it ended up messing up the configuration of my primary network. Thankfully, I’ve since learned a few valuable lessons!

After some research and trial and error, I discovered that using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) was the key to bridging the two networks. This allowed me to access all my Shelly devices from one central location, regardless of which network they’re on. I also found that organizing my devices into groups within the Shelly app made managing them much easier.

One thing I’d like to mention is the importance of a stable internet connection. Without it, the devices wouldn’t communicate properly, and I’d end up with inconsistent performance. I also recommend regularly updating the firmware on your devices to ensure optimal functionality.

I’m incredibly grateful to the community for the wealth of information and support available. It’s amazing how a little help can go a long way in solving what initially seems like a daunting task. If anyone has questions or needs advice, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Happy holidays to everyone, and here’s to a smarter, more connected home in the new year! :tada::sparkles:
