I recently installed OpenHAB along with the OpenWebNet addon on my Synology NAS, and I must say, the experience has been quite smooth so far! Following the instructions, I managed to run the initial scans of my myHome system without any issues. The first scan correctly identified my MH200N gateway, and the second scan found almost all my switches, CEN+ scenarios, and thermostats. It’s amazing how everything just fell into place!
Now, I’m at the point where I’d like to manually add some undiscovered devices, such as my blinds. However, I’ve noticed that when I attempt to add an OpenWebNet thing through PaperUI, a new system scan starts, and unfortunately, OpenHAB crashes before I can complete the setup. This is a bit frustrating because I’d love to configure these devices without having to go through the scan process each time. Does anyone know if there’s a way to bypass the scan and directly add a thing manually? I’ve tried adjusting the log level to DEBUG, but the issue persists.
On a positive note, all the automatically discovered devices are working flawlessly. The MH200N gateway, switches, and thermostats are all functioning as expected, which is a huge relief. I’m really impressed with how OpenHAB handles these integrations. It’s a testament to the robustness of the platform and the addon’s compatibility.
I’d love to hear from others who might have encountered similar issues or have tips on how to resolve this. Additionally, if anyone has successfully added devices like blinds manually, I’d be grateful for any guidance or best practices they could share. Let’s keep this community spirit alive and help each other troubleshoot and optimize our smart home setups!
Cheers,
Andrea
