Hey everyone! I wanted to share my experience integrating Reolink cameras with Home Assistant. I recently purchased a Reolink Home Hub to connect my two Argus track battery cameras and an outdoor E1 Pro camera. While setting everything up was a bit of a learning curve, I’m thrilled with how it all came together.
First, I connected all my cameras to the Reolink hub, which made the process much smoother. The hub acted as a bridge, allowing my cameras to communicate seamlessly with Home Assistant. I was concerned about whether the detection sensors would work within HA, but I’m happy to report that they do! I set up a few automations using the motion detection feature, and they’ve been working perfectly.
Another thing I was curious about was accessing the camera feeds directly from Home Assistant. After a bit of research, I found that it’s possible to view live feeds and recorded footage right within the HA interface. This has been incredibly convenient, especially for monitoring my outdoor camera without switching apps.
I also wanted to manage the recording settings based on my alarm status using Alarmo. Initially, I was worried that the Reolink system might overwrite my HA settings, but with some careful configuration, everything works in harmony. The cameras now adjust their recording settings based on whether the alarm is active or not, which adds an extra layer of security.
Overall, I’m really impressed with how well the Reolink cameras integrate with Home Assistant. It’s been a great addition to my smart home setup, and I’m excited to explore more features and automations in the future. If anyone has questions or needs help setting up their Reolink cameras, feel free to reach out—I’d be happy to share more details!
