After some time exploring the capabilities of my new Roborock S8 Pro, I’m thrilled to share my journey of integrating it into my smart home ecosystem. The installation process using HACS was smooth, and the initial setup worked flawlessly. However, I wanted to take it a step further by creating custom automation scripts to clean specific rooms on demand.
The challenge was understanding how to translate the provided service call into a functional script. After some research and experimentation, I figured out how to structure the script to target specific segments. I even managed to set up a user-friendly interface in my Lovelace dashboard, making it easy to select and clean individual rooms with just a tap.
This achievement has not only enhanced my cleaning routine but also deepened my understanding of Home Assistant’s scripting capabilities.
