Hi everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience integrating Shelly devices with Clever-PV for my home’s solar energy system. It’s been a fascinating process, and I hope my insights can help others who are considering similar setups. The Goal: We recently purchased an electric vehicle and wanted to maximize the use of solar energy to charge it. To achieve this, we decided to install a Wallbox controlled by Clever-PV, which requires a Shelly 3EM to monitor our energy consumption. The Challenge: The installation process wasn’t without its hurdles. Initially, I planned to install the current clamps under the breaker block, as indicated by the green arrow. However, the space was extremely tight, and the cover was sealed by the utility company, making it inaccessible. This led me to consider an alternative location, indicated by the red arrow, which had ample space. But I wasn’t sure if this would work as intended. The Solution: After some research and consultation with the community, I discovered that installing the clamps at the red arrow location was indeed feasible. It not only provided the necessary space but also ensured accurate monitoring of our energy usage. The Shelly 3EM integrated seamlessly with Clever-PV, allowing us to track and manage our solar energy usage effectively. Key Takeaways: - Location Matters: Always assess the installation area carefully. If the initial location is inaccessible, don’t hesitate to explore alternatives. - Community Support: The forums have been invaluable in providing guidance and reassurance. Don’t hesitate to ask for help if you’re unsure about any step. - Patience is Key: Integrating new devices can be complex, but taking the time to understand each component ensures a smooth setup. The Outcome: Our Wallbox is now up and running, efficiently utilizing solar energy to charge our electric vehicle. It’s incredibly satisfying to see our energy consumption being optimized in real-time. This setup not only reduces our carbon footprint but also lowers our energy costs, making it a win-win situation. I’m excited to continue exploring the capabilities of our solar energy system and Shelly devices. If anyone has questions or needs advice, feel free to reach out. Happy integrating! ![]()
