Successfully Integrating Shelly Dimmer 2 with OpenHAB

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience integrating the Shelly Dimmer 2 with OpenHAB. I recently purchased this device to control my Philips GU10 LED lights, and I must say, the setup was a breeze thanks to the detailed documentation and the supportive community.

Initially, I encountered a minor issue where the dimmer would occasionally cause a brief flicker in the lights after about 5 minutes of operation. This was a bit concerning, but after some research and reaching out to the forum, I discovered that adjusting the settings in the Shelly app resolved the problem. Specifically, enabling the ‘Power Measurement’ feature and ensuring the dimmer was properly calibrated made all the difference.

One thing I particularly appreciate about the Shelly Dimmer 2 is its compatibility with OpenHAB. The integration process was straightforward, and I was able to configure it using the OpenHAB Paper UI. The device now seamlessly controls my lights, providing smooth dimming and consistent performance.

For anyone considering this device, I highly recommend checking out the OpenHAB documentation and the Shelly community forums. They are invaluable resources and have been instrumental in ensuring a trouble-free setup.

Overall, I’m very satisfied with the Shelly Dimmer 2 and its integration into my smart home ecosystem. It’s a reliable and versatile device that enhances my home automation experience. Happy integrating everyone!
