Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent success in integrating my Shelly Pro 3 and Friends of Hue switches into my smart home setup. It’s been a journey, but the result is seamless automation that’s really enhancing my daily life!
I started with the Shelly Pro 3 as a switch and energy metering device. The idea was to track energy consumption when the switch is on, specifically over a 30-minute period. After some research and tinkering, I found that using a combination of rules and sensors allowed me to achieve this. It was a bit challenging at first, but the satisfaction of seeing the data flow in real-time was worth it!
Next, I wanted to integrate my Friends of Hue switches. Initially, I was concerned about compatibility, especially since I’m using Docker with Conbee III. However, with some adjustments in the configuration, I managed to get everything working smoothly. The long-press functionality, which was a bit hit or miss, finally started registering consistently after tweaking the settings.
The real magic happened when I combined these devices with my existing setup. Now, when I turn on the Shelly Pro 3 switch, it triggers a series of actions: the lights adjust based on the time of day, and the thermostat kicks in if it’s getting chilly. It’s all about creating a harmonious ecosystem where each device complements the others.
I’d love to hear from others who’ve successfully integrated multiple brands into their systems. What challenges did you face, and how did you overcome them? Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other create smarter homes!
Cheers to the smart home community! ![]()
