Successfully Integrating Smart Curtains with Zigbee Mesh

I’ve been working on setting up my smart home for the upcoming house construction in 2026, and I’m really excited to share my progress and experiences with the community! :star2:

My Setup: I’ve planned to use electric roller blinds from KFW 40 with smart controls via Home Assistant. The goal is to have each roller blind motor controlled both by a wall switch next to the door and through the HA app or dashboard. However, I wanted to avoid the hassle of running wires from the roller blind housing to the wall switch. That’s where I came across Simon’s video on using a Shelly 2PM to smarten up roller blinds for a fraction of the cost! :+1:

The Challenge: While Simon’s setup worked well for him, I realized that having a switch directly at the window didn’t add much value for me. I wanted a centralized control system where I could manage all my roller blinds from a single location, like the door, without the need for multiple switches. This led me to explore how I could use the Shelly 2PM wirelessly to control the roller blinds without relying on direct S1/S2 switch inputs. :brain:

What I’ve Tried: I’ve been researching whether it’s possible to control the Shelly 2PM via wireless communication instead of hardwiring it. From what I’ve gathered, it seems like a viable option, but I’m still not entirely sure about the best approach. Has anyone here successfully done something similar? If so, I’d love to hear about your setup and any tips you might have!

Why This Matters to Me: A smooth, wireless solution would not only save me time during installation but also keep my space looking clean and clutter-free. Plus, being able to control everything from a central hub or through the HA app is a huge plus for me. :hammer_and_wrench:

Looking Forward: I’m really excited about the possibilities this project holds. Whether it’s through trial and error or by learning from others’ experiences, I’m determined to find a solution that works seamlessly for my setup. If anyone has insights or suggestions, I’d be grateful to hear them! Let’s keep the ideas flowing! :bulb:

Thank you all for your support and for being such an amazing community!
