Hello everyone! I wanted to share my recent experience integrating a Schlage BE468 smart lock and several Linear WD500Z-1 dimmers with my Vera system. After some trial and error, I managed to create a seamless automation setup that I’d like to walk through with you all.First, I started by updating my Vera system to the latest firmware. I was excited to see the new features but quickly ran into an issue where my Schlage lock stopped responding. After a bit of research and troubleshooting, I realized it was a compatibility issue with the updated firmware. I reached out to the community here, and someone suggested rolling back to a previous firmware version. That worked like a charm!Next, I focused on setting up my Linear dimmers. I wanted to create a preset brightness level and then have the ability to turn them off completely, not just dim to 0%. I discovered that Vera’s ON/OFF switch works differently than the SetTarget command, which was exactly what I needed. By presetting the brightness to 100% and using the OFF command, I achieved the perfect setup for my living room lights. Here’s how I did it:- Assigned a preset brightness level of 100% for all dimmers.- Configured Vera to send an OFF command instead of dimming to 0%.- Tested the setup by manually turning off the lights at the switch, which worked flawlessly.I also wanted to share a quick tip for anyone dealing with similar issues:- Always check the Vera forums for compatibility updates before performing firmware upgrades.- Don’t hesitate to reach out to the community for advice; we’re all here to help! This setup has completely transformed my home automation experience, and I’m thrilled to have everything working smoothly again. If anyone has questions or needs help with similar setups, feel free to ask—I’d be happy to assist! Thanks to everyone in this community for your support and expertise. Keep the great work coming! ![]()
