Smart home technology has truly transformed the way we interact with our living spaces, and I must say, it’s been an incredible journey!
I recently decided to expand my smart home setup by adding a few more smart devices, specifically the TECKIN SP23 smart plugs. These plugs were designed to work seamlessly with Alexa, and I was excited to integrate them into my existing Amazon Echo ecosystem.
However, the initial setup wasn’t as smooth as I had hoped. While the plugs worked perfectly with the Smart Life App on my phone, connecting them to my Amazon Echo proved to be a bit of a challenge. I followed the instructions step by step, ensuring all devices were within range and my Wi-Fi connection was stable. Despite multiple attempts, Alexa couldn’t seem to discover the new plugs. Frustration set in, but I refused to give up!
After some research and experimentation, I discovered that sometimes devices need a little extra nudge to connect properly. I tried resetting both the plugs and my Echo, ensuring all firmware was up to date. The breakthrough came when I manually paired the plugs through the Alexa app by entering their MAC addresses. It was a bit of a workaround, but it worked! ![]()
Now, controlling my smart plugs through voice commands is a breeze, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. This experience taught me the importance of patience and persistence when integrating new devices into a smart home setup.
