Successfully Integrating Wyze Cameras on 5G Network

Recently, I faced a challenge connecting my Wyze cameras to my 5G Google Mesh network. Initially, I encountered difficulties because my Pixel phone preferred the 5G network over the 2.4 GHz band, which is essential for the Wyze app to function properly. After some research and experimentation, I discovered a workaround that resolved the issue.

I decided to use an older smartphone that exclusively connects to the 2.4 GHz network. By downloading the Wyze app on this device, I was able to install and configure my cameras without any issues. Once the setup was complete, I switched back to using my main phone, which runs on 5G, and was delighted to find that I could control my bulbs seamlessly through both my primary phone and Google Home.

This experience taught me the importance of understanding network preferences and how different devices can be utilized to overcome connectivity challenges. It’s a relief to have my Wyze cameras fully integrated into my smart home setup, enhancing my overall experience.

I thought I’d share this solution in case anyone else is dealing with similar issues. Sometimes, a simple adjustment like using an older device for setup can make a world of difference!
