Successfully Integrating Wyze Plug with Alexa

Hey everyone! I wanted to share my recent experience with integrating a Wyze plug with Alexa. At first, I was a bit puzzled when the plug didn’t seem to connect properly through the Alexa app. The error message about the device being unresponsive was a bit concerning, but I didn’t want to give up just yet.

I started by ensuring that the Wyze plug was correctly paired with my iPhone’s Wyze app, which it did without any issues. The plug worked seamlessly with the app, and I could control my lamp effortlessly. However, when I tried to link it with Alexa, I ran into some trouble. The Alexa app recognized the plug but tagged it as ‘Unavailable,’ which was frustrating.

After doing a bit of research, I realized that sometimes devices need a fresh start. I decided to unpair the Wyze plug from both the Wyze and Alexa apps. To do this, I went into the Wyze app, found the plug in the devices section, and selected the ‘Remove’ option. On the Alexa app, I navigated to the devices section, found the plug, and chose ‘Remove device.’

Once both apps confirmed the removal, I waited a few minutes to ensure all connections were fully severed. After that, I restarted my phone to clear any cached data that might have been causing the issue. With a clean slate, I tried pairing the Wyze plug again through the Wyze app first, and then proceeded to add it to Alexa.

This time, the process went smoothly! The plug was recognized by Alexa without any hiccups, and I could control it using voice commands. It was such a relief to see everything working as it should. I guess sometimes a good reset is all that’s needed to get things back on track!

I wanted to share this experience in case anyone else is facing similar issues. It’s always reassuring to know that a little troubleshooting can go a long way. Thanks to the supportive community here, I was able to find the solution I needed. Happy smart home integrating everyone!
