Successfully Integrating Xiaoyan Devices with Mi Home

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience integrating Xiaoyan devices with the Mi Home ecosystem. As someone who loves experimenting with smart home tech, I was really excited when I heard that Xiaoyan devices, which are already HomeKit compatible, could now work with Xiaomi’s Mi Home app. This integration opens up a whole new level of convenience, especially for those of us who use both ecosystems.

I started by purchasing a few Xiaoyan devices, including a smart plug and a four-button switch. The setup process was straightforward—just connect them to my existing Xiaomi devices through the Mi Home app. Initially, I was a bit nervous about whether everything would work seamlessly, especially since I rely heavily on voice commands using Xiao-Ai. But to my delight, everything connected without a hitch!

One thing I noticed is that the integration is currently limited to voice control within China, which might be a downside for non-Chinese speakers. However, for those of us who are Mandarin speakers, this adds a layer of convenience that wasn’t there before. I’ve been using the Xiao-Ai speaker to control my Xiaoyan devices, and it’s been a breeze.

I also appreciate that Xiaoyan devices use Zigbee for communication, which means they’re reliable and have a long range. This has been especially useful in my home, where I have multiple floors and rooms. The devices respond quickly, and I haven’t encountered any connectivity issues yet.

For anyone considering this integration, I’d recommend starting with a few devices to test the waters. The setup is user-friendly, and the benefits of having a more connected home are well worth the effort. Plus, knowing that Xiaoyan is expanding their compatibility with other platforms like Sonos and Amazon Alexa gives me confidence that their products will continue to be versatile and future-proof.

Overall, I’m really happy with how this integration has worked out. It’s been a great way to enhance my smart home setup without having to overhaul everything. If you’re looking to diversify your smart devices or want to explore cross-platform compatibility, I’d definitely give Xiaoyan and Mi Home a try!
