Hello everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with integrating Zigbee devices after a firmware update. A few days ago, I noticed that five out of my six generic Zigbee bulbs were no longer responding to commands. This was quite puzzling, especially since I had just updated the firmware on my smart home hub to the latest version, 2.1. I started to worry that the update might have caused some compatibility issues with my devices.
After some research and troubleshooting, I discovered that simply deleting and rejoining the devices was not the only solution. Instead, I decided to try a more systematic approach. I first checked the firmware versions of my Zigbee bulbs and found that most of them were running outdated software. I updated the firmware on each bulb one by one, following the manufacturer’s instructions carefully.
To my relief, after updating the firmware on the bulbs, they started responding to commands again. I also noticed that the integration process was smoother than before, and the devices communicated more reliably with my hub. This experience taught me the importance of keeping both the hub and individual devices up to date with the latest firmware.
If anyone else is facing similar issues, I would recommend checking the firmware versions of both your hub and your devices. Updating them might resolve the problem without the need for deleting and rejoining devices. It’s also a good practice to regularly check for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and compatibility.
I hope this helps someone who might be going through a similar situation. Happy integrating everyone!
