Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with pairing the Philips Hue Dimmer Switch v2 with my Hubitat system. I’ve been really excited to add these as secondary controllers for my in-wall dimmers, but the initial setup was a bit of a challenge. Let me walk you through what I went through and how I finally got it working!
First off, I followed the standard pairing instructions: pressing the setup button on the switch and going through the pairing process in the Hubitat app. The first time I tried it, the switch would briefly connect, but by the time I named it and placed it, it was back to blinking orange with no functionality. Frustrating, to say the least!
I did some digging in the forums and found a suggestion to pop the battery out for a few seconds. Tried it, but it didn’t seem to make a difference. Then, almost as soon as I posted about my issue, I noticed there was a Hubitat platform update available. I updated to version 2.3.4.134, and voilà! Everything started working smoothly.
Now, all three of my Hue dimmer switches are paired and remain connected. It’s such a relief to have them working as intended, and they’re adding a whole new level of convenience to my home automation setup. I’m really happy with how it turned out, and I hope this little update helps anyone else who might be struggling with the same issue!
If you’ve got any tips or tricks for getting the most out of these dimmer switches, I’d love to hear them. Happy automating everyone! ![]()
