Successfully Pairing Subwoofer with Echo Link

I recently faced an issue where my Echo Sub wasn’t activating when playing audio through my Echo Link. It worked fine when I played directly from the paired group, but not via the Echo Link. After some research and troubleshooting, I found a solution that might help others facing the same problem.

First, ensure your Echo Sub is correctly paired with your Echo Dot. You can do this by going to the Alexa app, selecting your Echo Dot, and checking the ‘Subwoofers’ section. If it’s not listed, you might need to re-pair it.

Next, check the settings on your Echo Link. Go to the Alexa app, navigate to ‘Music & Media’, and ensure that the ‘Line Out Distribution’ group includes your Echo Sub. This setting ensures that audio is distributed correctly to all devices.

Another thing to consider is the firmware of your devices. Make sure both your Echo Sub and Echo Link are up to date. You can check for updates in the Alexa app under ‘Settings > Device Settings’.

If the issue persists, try resetting your Echo Sub. Unplug it, wait for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.

Finally, if none of the above works, contacting Amazon support might be the next step. They can provide more specific troubleshooting steps or identify if there’s a hardware issue.

I hope this helps someone else who’s struggling with similar issues. It was a bit frustrating, but persistence paid off!
