Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with integrating the Yale Z-Wave Module 2 with the SmartThings Hub. At first, I was a bit confused and frustrated because the module wasn’t responding as expected. I tried several methods, including excluding and resetting, but nothing seemed to work. However, after some research and persistence, I found a solution that worked for me!
Here’s what I did:
- Double-Check the Hub Connection: Ensure your SmartThings hub is properly connected and functioning. I restarted mine, which seemed to help.
- Manual Inclusion Mode: Instead of using the app, I put the Yale module into learn mode manually by pressing the button on the module. This bypassed some app-related issues I was experiencing.
- Firmware Update: I checked if there was a firmware update available for both the hub and the Yale module. Updating them resolved some compatibility issues.
- Reboot and Try Again: Sometimes, a simple reboot can work wonders. After updating and manually putting the module into learn mode, it paired successfully.
