Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with integrating my Aqara roller blinds into my Zigbee network using Z2M. Initially, I faced some challenges, but it turned out to be a great learning opportunity!
A few weeks ago, I decided to switch from ZHA to Z2M to take advantage of more features for my Aqara blinds. Everything seemed to be working well until I noticed that the blind’s state wasn’t updating. After some research, I realized that the issue might be due to outdated firmware on my Sonoff Zigbee Stick P. Updating the firmware was a bit of a process, but it went smoothly in the end.
However, after the update, I encountered a new problem: my Aqara blinds weren’t being discovered by Z2M anymore. I tried deleting and re-pairing them multiple times, but nothing worked. I even bought a new Aqara zigbee button to test the setup, and that worked fine. This made me think that the issue was specific to the blinds.
After some more digging, I came across a suggestion to reset the device’s network information. I decided to give it a try. I put the blinds into pairing mode, waited for a while, and then tried to add them again. To my delight, they were discovered and paired without any issues!
This experience taught me the importance of thoroughly researching solutions and not giving up too easily. It also highlighted how a small tweak can make a big difference. If anyone else is facing similar issues, I highly recommend checking if a factory reset or network reset might be the solution.
It’s amazing how a little persistence can turn a frustrating problem into a successful setup. Happy automating everyone! ![]()
