Successfully Resolved Schlage F599 Smart Lock Notification Issue

Hello everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with the Schlage F599 smart lock and how I managed to resolve a notification issue that was bothering me. I hope this helps someone else facing a similar problem!

I installed the Schlage F599 lock with the GC3 (3.0.2) controller and integrated it with Alarm.com. While notifications worked perfectly when I locked or unlocked the door using the Alarm.com app, I noticed that no notifications were triggered when someone used the lock’s keypad. This was concerning because I wanted to know exactly who was accessing the door.

After some research, I realized the issue might be related to the notification settings within Alarm.com. I checked the user code assignments and notification configurations, only to find that notifications were only enabled for app-based operations, not keypad interactions. This wasn’t ideal for my needs.

I reached out to Alarm.com’s technical support, and they suggested updating the lock’s firmware. Although the firmware update didn’t resolve the issue, their assistance was invaluable. I then explored the Alarm.com app further and discovered an option to enable notifications for all lock operations, including those initiated via the keypad. Enabling this setting finally solved the problem!

Now, I receive notifications regardless of whether the lock is operated through the app or the keypad. This has given me peace of mind and better control over my home security.

I wanted to share this experience in case anyone else is facing a similar issue. It’s always reassuring to know that with a bit of troubleshooting and support, these problems can be overcome.

Thank you for reading, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions or suggestions!
