Successfully Resolving GE Zigbee Bulb Disconnect Issues

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the GE A19 Zigbee bulbs and how I managed to resolve the persistent disconnect issues. I purchased these bulbs on clearance, and while they were a great deal, they came with a few challenges. The bulbs would randomly disconnect, especially after a power outage, which was quite frustrating. I tried deleting and re-adding them multiple times, but the issue persisted.

After some research, I discovered that using a Link hub could be the solution. The Link hub acts as a mini Wink hub and works seamlessly with these bulbs. I paired the bulbs with the Link hub and connected it to my Vera system using the Vera Wink plugin. Since making this change, I haven’t experienced any disconnects, even after extended power outages.

While there is a slight delay in command execution due to the cloud-based communication, it’s a small trade-off for the reliability. This setup has been working flawlessly for several months now, and I’m thrilled with the results. I hope this information helps others who might be facing similar issues with their GE Zigbee bulbs.
