Successfully Resolving Google Nest Integration Error

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with setting up the Google Nest integration in Home Assistant. I ran into a bit of a snag with the Cloud Project ID error, but after some troubleshooting, I managed to get everything working smoothly. Here’s what happened and how I resolved it:

I followed the official Nest Integration documentation to the letter, double-checking every step. Everything seemed to be in order, but when I reached the final stage of linking my Google account, I encountered the error: ‘Please enter a valid Cloud Project ID.’ I was a bit puzzled because I had triple-checked that the project ID matched the one in my Google Cloud Console.

I started by reviewing the logs in Home Assistant, which pointed to an issue with creating subscriptions in the Google Cloud project. I decided to try a fresh start by deleting and recreating the integration. After several attempts, I realized that the issue might be related to how the project ID was being entered. I carefully re-entered the project ID, ensuring there were no typos or spaces, and voilà! The integration worked perfectly.

I was relieved and excited to finally connect my Nest Doorbell to Home Assistant. It was a bit of a rollercoaster, but persistence paid off. I hope this helps anyone else who might be facing similar issues. If you’re stuck, don’t hesitate to reach out to the community or double-check your project ID settings!

Happy automating everyone! :rocket:
