Successfully Set Up LUUP Scenes for Ventilation Fans

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share my recent success in setting up LUUP scenes for my bathroom ventilation fans. My goal was to create three different scenes: one for the toilet with a 15-minute timer, another for the shower with a 25-minute timer, and a third for the bath with a 60-minute timer. After some research and experimentation, I managed to get everything working smoothly!

Here’s how I did it:

  1. Understanding the Scenes: I first mapped out what each scene should do. The toilet scene needed to turn on the fan and shut it off after 15 minutes. Similarly, the shower and bath scenes required longer durations.

  2. Setting Up the Scenes in Vera: Using my Vera 3 and VeraPlus controller, I created separate scenes for each bathroom activity. I assigned each scene a unique name and set the countdown timers accordingly.

  3. Testing the Scenes: I tested each scene individually to ensure they worked as intended. It was a bit tricky at first, but with some trial and error, everything fell into place.

  4. Final Touches: Once all scenes were functioning correctly, I integrated them into my daily routine. Now, I can activate the scenes with just a few taps on my smartphone or through voice commands.

This setup has made my life much easier, especially when I’m busy and don’t want to remember to turn off the fans manually. It’s also energy-efficient, ensuring that the fans don’t run longer than necessary.

If anyone has questions about setting up similar scenes or needs help with their Vera setup, feel free to reach out. I’d be happy to share more details or troubleshoot any issues!

Thank you for reading, and I hope this post inspires others to explore the possibilities with LUUP and Vera!
