Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience setting up the Wyze Pan Cam V3 in my car. I’ve been wanting to add some surveillance for my vehicle, and after some research, I decided this camera would be perfect for the job.
First, I had to figure out the best placement. I settled on mounting it on the dashboard, which gives me a good view of the front seat and part of the back. I used a sturdy adhesive mount that I found at a local hardware store—it’s been holding up great so far.
Next, I needed to connect it to my car’s power source. I have an iPhone 12 with a hotspot, so I used that to set up the camera’s Wi-Fi. The process was pretty straightforward: I followed the Wyze app instructions, and within about 15 minutes, the camera was live and streaming. I was a bit worried about the power supply, but so far, it’s been consistent.
One thing I did differently was run the power cable through the glove compartment to keep it hidden. It’s a small detail, but it makes the setup look cleaner. I also downloaded the Wyze app on my laptop so I can monitor the feed from anywhere, which has been super helpful.
I’ve been using this setup for about a week now, and I’m really impressed with the video quality and the app’s features. The motion detection works well, and I can receive alerts on my phone if anything unusual happens. It’s given me peace of mind knowing my car is under surveillance, especially when I’m parked in less busy areas.
If anyone else is thinking about doing something similar, I’d recommend checking your car’s electrical system beforehand to ensure you have a reliable power source. Also, take your time with the placement to get the best coverage possible. It’s a small investment that’s already made a big difference for me.
