Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with getting the Aeon Multisensor 6 to work seamlessly with Google Home. I recently set up my sensor with the SmartThings hub, and it’s been performing flawlessly there. However, when I tried to sync it with Google Home, it didn’t show up, even after multiple attempts to resync and reassign devices. I found this a bit puzzling since the sensor was working perfectly on the SmartThings side.
After some research and troubleshooting, I discovered that the issue might be related to how Google Home integrates with third-party hubs. I decided to try a different approach by removing my SmartThings account from Google Home and re-adding it. This process meant I had to reassign all my devices to their respective rooms, which was a bit time-consuming but ultimately worth it.
Here’s what worked for me:
- Unlink and Relink: I started by unlinking my SmartThings account from Google Home. This step was crucial as it allowed me to start fresh without any lingering issues from the previous setup.
- Reassign Devices: After relinking, I had to manually reassign each device to its respective room. While this was a bit tedious, it gave me a chance to organize my devices more efficiently.
- Check for Updates: I also made sure that both the SmartThings and Google Home apps were updated to their latest versions. Sometimes, outdated apps can cause compatibility issues.
- Test the Sensor: Once everything was set up again, I tested the sensor by triggering it a few times. To my delight, it showed up in Google Home and started working as expected!
I hope this helps anyone else who might be experiencing similar issues. It’s always a bit frustrating when devices don’t sync as expected, but with a little patience and persistence, it’s usually possible to work through the problem. If anyone has additional tips or tricks, I’d love to hear them!
