Successfully Transitioning from Raspberry Pi to NUC with OpenHAB

I wanted to share my recent experience upgrading my OpenHAB setup from a Raspberry Pi to a more powerful NUC. After some research, I decided on the Intel NUC with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, which seemed like a solid choice for better performance and future-proofing.\n\nThe process wasn’t without its challenges, especially since I’m relatively new to Docker and Portainer. Initially, I faced issues with the OpenHAB container not starting properly, which was quite frustrating. The logs kept pointing to a missing start.sh file, and despite following the official documentation closely, I couldn’t pinpoint the issue immediately.\n\nHowever, after some thorough troubleshooting and reaching out to the community for advice, I realized that adjusting the Docker configuration was necessary. Ensuring the correct permissions and paths made a world of difference. Once everything was set up properly, the transition from my Raspberry Pi to the NUC was seamless.\n\nNow, with the increased processing power, I can handle more complex rules and integrations without any lag. It’s incredibly satisfying to see everything running smoothly after overcoming those initial hurdles. If anyone is considering an upgrade, I highly recommend exploring Docker and Portainer setups—they offer a lot of flexibility and scalability.\n\nThank you to everyone in the community for your support and resources! It really made a difference during this transition.
