Successfully Upgrading Heating System with Homematic

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience upgrading my heating system using Homematic devices. I’ve been using Buderus heating solutions for years, but I’ve always wanted to integrate them into my smart home setup. After some research, I decided to replace my Buderus BERT with a Homematic IP solution.

The goal was to automate the heating control while maintaining reliable functionality. I chose the HmIP-BWTH for the first stage of heating and the HmIP-FSI16 for the second stage. The process wasn’t without challenges, especially figuring out how to ensure the second stage only activates when the first stage is already on.

After some trial and error, I set up a rule where the HmIP-FSI16 only receives power when the HmIP-BWTH switch is active. This setup has been working perfectly, and I’ve noticed a significant improvement in energy efficiency.

I’d like to thank the community for all the helpful tips and resources that guided me through this project. If anyone has questions or needs advice, feel free to reach out! :raised_hands:
