Successfully Upgrading Netbotz 200 Firmware: A Step-by-Step Journey

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience upgrading the firmware on my Netbotz 200 devices. It was a bit of a rollercoaster, but I managed to get it sorted out, and I thought I’d document the process in case anyone else is tackling the same challenge.

So, I have two Netbotz 200 units, both running older firmware versions. I decided it was time to update them to the latest firmware, 3.9.0 for the AOS and 3.7.5 for the NetBotz app. I followed the instructions from the user manual, which involved using scp to transfer the firmware files. The process worked smoothly on one device, netbotz2, but netbotz1 gave me some trouble. After multiple attempts, it still showed the old AOS version, and the Device Manager screen was blank. That was pretty frustrating!

I spent a good chunk of time troubleshooting—rechecking the firmware files, ensuring the scp commands were correct, and even trying a hard reset. Nothing seemed to work at first. But persistence paid off! After one more careful attempt, the firmware finally updated correctly. The Device Manager now displays all connected devices, and everything seems to be functioning as it should.

This experience taught me the importance of patience and thoroughness when dealing with firmware upgrades. It’s also a good reminder to double-check all steps, especially when working with older hardware. I’m relieved to have this resolved and happy to share my journey in case it helps someone else avoid the same headaches.

If anyone else has had similar experiences or tips for smooth firmware updates, I’d love to hear about them! Let’s keep the knowledge flowing.
