The Challenge
I wanted my lights to automatically turn off at sunrise and on at sunset. Sounds simple, right? But I was struggling with understanding the correct sensor settings and timing. The Solution
After some research and trial and error, I realized I needed to simplify my approach. Instead of using complex conditional logic, I set up two separate automations - one for sunrise and one for sunset. This made the whole setup much cleaner and more reliable.
How It Works
- Sunrise Automation: Triggers at sunrise to turn off my bedroom lights. This helps me wake up naturally without any harsh light.
- Sunset Automation: Triggers at sunset to turn on my hallway lights. It’s been a lifesaver for coming home in the dark!
