Hello fellow home automation enthusiasts! ![]()
I wanted to share a positive experience I recently had while expanding my home automation setup. I’ve been using Z-Wave in my system, but I decided to add Zigbee support to my Home Assistant setup. After some research, I came across a developer based in Ukraine who creates a USB Zigbee coordinator. Intrigued by the opportunity to support a local developer, I reached out to him directly to inquire about donations or any other form of assistance.
To my delight, he responded warmly and shared that he had managed to relocate his stock from Kyiv to western Ukraine, allowing him to continue shipping products. He also mentioned that all profits from his sales would be donated to support the Ukrainian army and civilians in need. This was incredibly inspiring and made me want to contribute in the best way I could.
I decided to purchase one of his Zigbee LAN coordinators, not just for my own setup but as a way to support his efforts. I’ve been using it for a while now, and it’s been working seamlessly with my system. It’s been a great addition, and I feel good knowing that my purchase is making a difference.
I’d love to hear if others have found similar ways to support developers or causes they care about through their smart home setups. Let’s continue to use our passion for technology to make a positive impact! ![]()
