I’m looking for a reliable switch to control an outlet in my home. Currently, I have a standard switch controlling the top part of an outlet, while the bottom remains always hot. The setup involves a hot, neutral, and ground wire in the switch box, with a red, hot, neutral, and ground wire leading out. There are other outlets connected downstream, and I’d like to control this one from bed without having to get up.
I tried the GE 45637 switch, but it didn’t meet my needs. Maybe a Z-Wave outlet would be a better solution since it can be controlled wirelessly and integrated with other smart devices. If anyone has experience with this or can recommend a specific model, I’d greatly appreciate the advice.
Thanks for your help!
