Recently, I made the switch from using Bluetooth to Matter for connecting my SwitchBot devices to Home Assistant. While the transition was smooth in many ways, I encountered a peculiar issue with the temperature and humidity values from my SwitchBot meters. These values would randomly spike, sometimes reaching extreme highs or lows, which was quite concerning.
I tested this with both Meter Plus and Outdoor Meters, and the issue persisted across different devices. I even tried switching my hub from the Hub Mini to the Hub 2, but the problem remained. After some research, I considered connecting the meters to Google Home via Matter and then integrating them into Home Assistant, but I thought it would be better to ask the community first before investing in a Nest Mini.
After some time and a bit of trial and error, I found that resetting the meters and ensuring a stable Matter connection helped mitigate the issue. It seems like a firmware update or a more stable Matter implementation might be the long-term solution. I’m happy to share this workaround with anyone facing the same problem!
It’s amazing how the community here helps troubleshoot and find solutions. If anyone has additional insights or solutions, I’d love to hear them! ![]()
