Switching Camera Brands and Night Vision Tips

Hey everyone! I wanted to share my recent journey with smart cameras and some tips I’ve picked up along the way. I’ve been using Blink cameras for a while now, but I’ve decided to switch to a different brand. The main reason? Blink’s outdoor cameras were just too slow to load, and by the time I got them open, whatever triggered them was already gone. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone—definitely go with someone else if you’re in the market for outdoor cameras.I’ve now set up my first Cam Pan, and while it’s been a great addition, I ran into some issues at night. The camera kept turning off, and even when I restarted it, the night vision wasn’t working as expected. I thought maybe I had messed up the settings, but after some troubleshooting, I realized it was a scheduling issue. I ended up disabling all the schedule rules, and that seemed to fix the problem! Now, when I close the app or go back to the home screen, the camera stays on.Another thing I wanted to mention is the importance of firmware updates. I recently updated my Wyze Cam Pan, and it made a world of difference. The offline stability improved, and the night vision works like a charm now. It’s amazing how a simple update can fix so many issues. If you haven’t updated your cameras in a while, I highly recommend giving it a try.Overall, I’m really happy with my new setup, and I hope these tips help someone else out there. If you’ve switched camera brands or have any night vision tips, I’d love to hear about your experiences! Thanks for reading, and happy smart home tinkering!
