I’ve been using Life360 for years to track my family’s locations, but I’ve always been intrigued by the idea of integrating everything into a single smart home ecosystem. After hearing great things about Hubitat, I decided to give their Presence feature a try. Here’s how my journey went so far:
I installed the Hubitat mobile app on my phone, my wife’s phone, and our son’s phone. Today was the first real test of how well it works in our home. When I came home from lunch, the app showed me as ‘home’ within about a minute of actually being here. The same thing happened when my wife arrived home later in the afternoon. It’s pretty impressive to see it work in real-time!
I’m curious if this level of responsiveness is normal or if I might need to tweak the geofencing settings. Should I increase the GeoFence area to ensure more consistent updates? I’d love to hear from others who have successfully set this up in their homes.
The ability to have all our location data integrated with our smart home devices is really exciting. I can’t wait to explore more automation possibilities with Hubitat Presence!
