Synchronizing Outdoor Light Strips for a Seamless Effect

Hey everyone, I’m really excited to share my recent project with you! I’ve been working on setting up a series of outdoor light strips around my house, and I wanted to create a smooth, continuous effect where the lights appear as one long strip. I’ve got a mix of Govee H5179 sensors and some older models, and I’m trying to integrate everything seamlessly.

I ordered about 250 feet of these light strips, including a few different models like the H5074 and H5075, which I heard can measure dew point and VPD. The setup spans across the front of my house, wrapping around the gable and even over to a small red building. I also have a couple of flood lights and a light curtain that I want to include in the mix. The goal is to have light effects flow from one end to the other, creating a cohesive and dynamic display.

I’ve been experimenting with the Govee app to sync these strips, but I’m not sure if it’s possible to make them work as one continuous strip. I’ve heard that connecting two strips isn’t straightforward, but I’m hoping there’s a workaround. If I need to adjust the setup, I might have to order another 32’ pro strip to replace the EVO model I’m using for testing.

Another thing I’m curious about is what to do with the excess strips. I have about 10 feet of one 32’ pro strip and 8 feet of the EVO strip that I won’t be using. I’d love to hear if anyone has creative ideas for repurposing these leftover pieces. Maybe they could be used for smaller projects or as backups?

I’ve also been exploring the Govee website and came across some refurbished items and new releases that caught my eye. It’s amazing how the community shares tips and tricks, making it easier to troubleshoot and improve setups. If anyone has experience with similar projects or tips on achieving that seamless effect, I’d be thrilled to hear from you!

Overall, I’m really enjoying the process of customizing my outdoor lighting. It’s a great way to get creative and make my home feel even more special. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and any advice you might have!
