T1M dimming function with Aqara H2 Dimmer EU

Good day,

Can someone confirm that Aqara H2 Dimmer EU switch can dim the T1M ceiling light by turning the physical knob?
I would like to buy T1M, but would like to know if I will be able to control it via physical dimmer switch

Thank you in advance

Let me test something tonight.
There’s no direct link option, but when I create an automation on the trigger “Rotate”, I can then select a limited number of actions on another Aqara Light.
It seems to use the value of the current Dimmer to assign it to the other light.
If that works, that would be your solution.

Since the Dimmer has to be powered, you could plug your light on it, switch it to “Decoupled mode” so that the ceiling light is always powered, and then use the automation to control.

Maybe somebody has already tried this and will confirm before I test.

Hello @andrius_b

You need to switch the H2 dimmer to wireless mode

then create the automation you need

I checked, it works, will work and works.
Have a nice evening

Hi Raman, but in your automation as I understand it, when you dial (rotate) the knob it only turns on the T1M, or are you able to control brightness by rotating the wheel?

Thanks for pinging back, I wanna be able to use turn dial to DIM the light.
In short, I would expect it to be wired as normal switch to use dimming function physically (I mean H2 EU dimmer LOAD wire going to T1M to control the dimming), so the T1M is powered only when I would push on it and use dial.
When there is/would be a need I could/would use automation to trigger H2 Dimmer to power on T1M. Hope its clear what I mean

Is it possible that the H2 Dimmer EU isn’t actually designed to control smart bulbs in the way you’d like?

I think the dimmer is only intended for dumb bulbs, and only for those that can be dimmed natively. I don’t think Aqara intended the dimmer to work that way with a smart bulb like your T1M, or am I mistaken?

The dimmer changes the load for the bulb connected at the top, and if you have a smart bulb at the other end, which tends to always require full load to function properly, this theoretically shouldn’t work.

Dimming with smart bulbs happens internally at the top of the bulb.

Please correct me if I’m wrong.

I hear what you say and understand what you mean. I agree 110% with you on that the dimmer changes the load for the bulb connected.
I would like to know if I can physically (with the help of the knob rotating left/right) control the brightness of the T1M.

That’s the question I do have, does T1M supports dimming physically using Aqara H2 Dimmer EU rotary knob?

To make it short: i think no.

But I am happy to be proven wrong.

Good luck mate. Keep us informed :v::handshake:

It would be good if someone who has T1M could do the test
don’t wanna buy a thing without knowing it. Cheers crazyracer

Hello, what Roman showed is the T1 adjustment. In my drawing, the same automation is used, only with the use of a cube (rotation). Also, understand that if you physically disconnect T1 from the power supply (with a switch), the lamp will simply go into offline mode.

in my automation the dimmer logically controls T1M and when the knob is turned it changes the brightness to T1m.
and my T1M is connected to S1 plus via the MARS mode (smart load) with constant power supply

Ah… It works. So cool. But the key here ist to set an Automation AND use the MARS technologie from Aqara?

Thank U @Raman.V :muscle:

Good to know

Thanks Raman, so that means there is an issue if you have 1 room, one H2 Dimmer Switch (since it does support MARS) and wires from that outlet going to T1M?

Hello
no, you need to connect t1m directly without a switch so that it is always online, and switch the H2 dimmer to logical mode (wireless) as in my screenshot in the first answer and create automation.

ok, so physical “push” (turning on) won’t work, right? it will be only left/right turning of the knob to control the dimming, so actually you cant switch off the T1M completely?

Wireless. Got it. Same mode i use my H2 EU Switches :v::handshake:

I will be able to turn it off by pressing the handle and creating an automation for this

And by double-clicking I can also turn on or off the additional T1m backlight, also creating automation

got it, so you control children room from your bedroom, I am assuming S1 plus connected to T1M is in children room.
