T2 Relay fail to add

Hello
I have a T2 relay (was working fine) that was registered to an M2 Hub and I want to change it to another M2 Hub…

  • I deleted it from the old Hub
  • The T2 is correctly powered
  • I made the hard reset (press the fisical button for 5+ sec
  • And try to add it to the other Hub
    • add device, T2 relay…
    • choose the Hub
    • the Hub enter in pairing mode…
    • press 5+ sec. on T2
    • T2 starts blinking blue
    • always get fail to add

Note: when I press the T2 button for 5+ sec., the led blinks blue, but only for 3 sec.

What can I do??

Press continuously for 10 sec or press it 10 times … please try that

Hello, also check if the “delete prevention” function is enabled in the settings of the old M2 gateway.

It sounds like the relay isn’t resetting completely or might still be partially connected to the old hub. Try unplugging it entirely for a minute or so and then reset closer to the new M2 hub. If it’s only flashing for 3 seconds again, it might also be a firmware issue.

D O N E !!

It was the ACCIDENTAL DELETION PROTECTION on the Hub

The T2 was removed from the Hub, but it wasn’t totally removed… then I couldn’t add the T2 again

Thkx for your precious help

To Dev Team: this shouldn’t happen

Great you could do it and @gafich10 hint was the solution :enqjol2bgmcitcrmcmgdyz_61:

But what shouldn’t happen? To the dev?

I mean to the Developers Team…
This issue shouldn’t happen - the delete of the device wasn’t really complet

Note:

  • the T2 was previously deleted in the Aqara Home App , as demanded by the accidental deletion protection
  • the T2 was visually removed from the App
  • the device should be really removed from the system

But if you turned on the „accidental deletion protection“ then the system worked correctly!
It’s not the developer teams issue- they did program that for exactly that reason :cowboy_hat_face:

Hi, @DEChrisE.
I disagree. Accidental deletion is remote deletion (I pressed the switch 5 times, installed a relay - I pressed the button by mistake). If I deliberately delete from the APP program, this is my personal decision. Unfortunately, there is no notification when deleting from the APP, there is a notification only when you directly (physically) delete the device.

I’m going more with @DEChrisE. If I turned on the deletion prevention, it should prevent the deletion under all circumstances until I turn it off again, regardless if I try it deliberately, accidentally or from remote. It should prevent me or any other person from deletion. That additional step to turn it off when I really intend to delete it, is a reminder, heads-up and safeguard which I have implemented with full intend.

I’m sorry to disagree with you…

As I see (and I can be wrong), the protection ON is to avoid inadvertently delete of devices, from the device itself, permitting to delete devices only through the App.

So, if the device is deleted from the App, it should be really deleted (as happens with most of devices).

For the common User, the device was deleted, and it was removed from the App.
