Hi all, I’m planning to upgrade my home heating system with Tado thermostats for better control and energy efficiency. I have two heating zones in my house, each controlled by EPH thermostats and a central timer unit. My goal is to replace these with Tado thermostats without altering the boiler wiring too much, especially since winter is approaching.
I’ve heard great things about Tado’s smart features, but I’m a bit unsure about the wiring setup. Currently, each thermostat has live, neutral, and a ‘call for heating’ wire. I’m wondering which terminal on the Tado thermostat should the ‘call for heating’ wire connect to—should it be COM or another terminal? I’ve attached a photo of my existing setup for reference.
Additionally, I’m considering whether to keep the timer unit always on or to eventually replace it with an extension kit. I’m also thinking about adding TRV valves in the future for more precise control. Any advice or experiences shared would be incredibly helpful! Thanks in advance for your insights.
