I have an Aqara temp sensor I’m using to run my ventilation fan in my bathroom when the humidity rises to a certain point. It keeps deleting itself from the Aqara app. I put a new battery in it the other day, thinking that might be the issue, but apparently not.
Of note, it is probably my oldest one in the house, maybe as old as 3-4 years. Is it worn out or something? I’d really like it to not do that.
I don’t know what sensor Aqara uses but some other vendors seem to have a 3-4 year life span in high humidity use cases.
Does it lose power before it deletes? Cleaning and/or bending the battery contacts slightly may help.
If it’s regular every 2 days for example - move it close to the hub and see if the issue still happens. It just eliminates one more possibility.

Hello, I had the same situation, unauthorized removal. This is a problem of sticking (oxidation) of the communication (reset) button. I simply removed it from the circuit (broke it off) and using small tweezers (thin tips like a needle) I reattached the thermometer (made contact at the switch location), held it for 5 seconds and removed the tweezers. They have been working for more than three months without problems.
I had this with both the new T1 and the old thermometer that were in constant high humidity.

It’s pretty close to the hub now. I’m not sure if it loses power before deleting or if it happens regularly. It’s only happened twice so far.
I think it COULD have something to do with the button though. I could’ve sworn I saw a light blink 3 times last night when I was in there in the middle of the night. I imagine it would only do that if the button contacts are closed, right?
That’s right, one thermometer was blinking constantly every 5 minutes, and the second once a day. By the way, if you have T1 and the deletion protection is turned on on the gateway, then you will be notified that someone is trying to delete the thermometer. I had this with T1🤣

That’s funny. When it happened to you, were you still able to feel a click when you pushed the button?

Yes, there was a click. I tried cleaning it with alcohol but it didn’t work. Only removing the button. By the way, everything works fine now.
