Temperature Sensor Integration Experience and Questions

Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into improving my home automation setup, and I wanted to share my experiences and ask for some advice.温度传感器的使用体验和问题I’ve recently started integrating temperature sensors into my Home Assistant setup to enhance my automations. Currently, I have Tado central heating and Daikin AC units integrated, but I’ve noticed a discrepancy in the temperatures they report, even though they’re placed next to each other. This has been a bit of a puzzle for me, especially as the colder weather sets in.When I measured the baby room with a handheld infrared temperature device, I found that the Tado system reports temperatures close to the radiator accurately, but on the opposite side of the room, it can be up to 3 degrees colder. This inconsistency is a bit concerning, especially since I rely on these devices for automating my heating and cooling systems.I’ve also noticed that the Daikin AC provides a more consistent temperature throughout the room, which is why I sometimes use it for heating instead of the radiator. However, the fact that both systems report different temperatures is something I’d like to address. Here’s where I’d love some advice:1. Hardware Recommendations: I’m looking for reliable temperature sensors that offer good price-to-quality ratios. I prefer Zigbee over Z-Wave or WiFi devices, as I’ve heard Zigbee is more stable for home automation.2. Zigbee Adapter Setup: I run Home Assistant on an Odroid H3, which doesn’t have built-in Zigbee support. I’ve been looking into options like the SkyConnect Zigbee stick or the Sonoff Dongle Plus-E. I’d love to know if the Sonoff option is better and if it can work with devices from other manufacturers.3. Gateways and Bridges: I’ve come across sensors like the Sonoff SNZB-02D, which require a Zigbee bridge to function. I’m a bit confused about whether these devices can work directly with a Zigbee stick like the SkyConnect or if I need an additional gateway.I’ve also been experimenting with手持红外温度计 to get a more accurate reading of the room temperatures, which has been helpful but a bit cumbersome. I’m hoping to find a more seamless solution with the right sensors and setup. If anyone has experience with similar setups or can offer some insights, I’d really appreciate it! I’m excited to improve my home automation further and ensure my system runs smoothly and efficiently. Thanks in advance for your help!
