Tesla Heater Automation and Smart Lighting Projects

Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into some exciting home automation projects lately and wanted to share my experiences and ask for some advice! :rocket:

First off, I’ve just added my Tesla Model 3 to my smart home setup. It’s been a blast automating little things like turning on the heater at 7:00 AM. I found a great automation script online, but I’m running into some issues with the conditions. I’ve set it up to check the battery level and outside temperature, but it keeps throwing errors during testing. If anyone has experience with Tesla integrations, I’d love to hear your tips! Here’s what my current setup looks like:

markdown

  • Trigger: At 7:00 AM every weekday
  • Conditions:
    • Battery level above 30%
    • Outside temperature below 7°C
    • Car located at home
  • Action: Turn on heater

On another note, I’ve been experimenting with repurposing old tech into smart home gadgets. I came across this Minecraft-themed lamp that was sitting idle, and I decided to give it new life with an ESP8266 board and some RGB LEDs. It’s now connected to my home automation system, displaying notifications and weather info on its tiny OLED screen. The green plastic casing gives it a cool retro vibe, and it’s been a fun little project to work on during my downtime. If anyone has similar DIY projects, I’d love to hear about them!

Lastly, I’ve been exploring ways to integrate more eco-friendly solutions into my setup. I’ve heard great things about using motion sensors to optimize heating systems, but I’m not entirely sure how to configure it properly. If anyone has experience with this or any suggestions, I’d really appreciate the help!

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing from you all! :star2:
