Hello everyone, I wanted to share my experience with Teslamate and how it affected my Home Assistant setup. I’ve been using Teslamate for a while now, but recently I noticed that my Node-RED automations were lagging, especially when someone was driving the car. The processor on my Raspberry Pi was spiking, which made everything slow down.
After some digging, I realized that Teslamate was updating entities like speed, power, and odometer thousands of times during a short drive. This constant updating was overwhelming my system. To fix it, I moved the frequently changing entities out of my MQTT configuration and set up a Node-RED automation to throttle their updates to once every minute. This significantly reduced the load on my Pi and everything runs smoothly now!
