Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with the Aqara P2 Matter over Thread contact sensor. I’ve been really impressed with how seamlessly it integrates with my Home Assistant setup, especially using the Border Router.
I decided to put it through some stress testing last night. I placed the sensor on my wife’s keyboard tray, and whenever she opened or closed it, it triggered a Dome Siren’s chime. I didn’t tell her about it, so it was hilarious to hear her confusion this morning when the chime went off multiple times!
This was a great way to test the sensor’s reliability and responsiveness. I’ve since moved it to monitor a door, but the initial test was a lot of fun. If you’re looking for a dependable contact sensor, I’d definitely recommend the Aqara P2.
Also, a big shoutout to Govee for their fantastic products. Their devices are so easy to use and integrate perfectly with my setup. It’s always great to find hardware that works well without any hiccups.
