Thanks for addressing this!
@Aqara_PM_Donie thanks for the update. I guess Iām still not sure I understand the benefit of having Matter on the cameras seeing as most of your cameras support the major home ecosystems natively. Unless Matter allows greater camera control and exposes AI recognition as triggers then not sure what the point is of just having another static feed.
Thanks Aqara! Do you will integrate third party cameras in s1 hub plus thanks of matter 1.5?
While we wait for matter 1.5 to get released to various devices in like 2 years from now maybe. I bought the G4 to because it would get matter support and still havenāt got that. So please give us at least rtsp support the g410 has it and it should not be that difficult.
I donāt understand why every manufacturer almost is like on matter 1.3 still?
So they can sell you new product which supports it.
Because certification takes time and costs money, and you need any version to be able to put matter logo on your devices, so they dont have to bother to update a matter version anymore.
Yes it does first time not every time you update firmware. But like the previous answer just said itās just so they can make more money
Hello guysļ¼
If you have noticed the new product information released by Aqara at this yearās CES, you should be familiar with some of Aqaraās new Matter Camera products.
For the old Aqara Camera, we will enable it to support Matter Camera features through the Hub M3 or other Aqara Matter Controller devices (we will release the specific list later). This means that you need to own an Aqara Matter Controller device first. The initial supported old cameras are expected to be G100 and G5 Pro. Firmware updates for other models will be released gradually. We will recruit a group of friends who own M3, G100, or G5 Pro products to participate in the Matter Camera function test in the near future. At that time, you only need to update the Aqara Home app version as well as the firmware of the Hub M3 and camera.
Sounds great and absolutely legit to me @Aqara_PM_Donie! Thanks for taking you time and give us these informations!
I would love to be test the new Matter support for these cameras ![]()
Thx 4 the update
What about the the new mount for the G5 camera? You wrote in august 2025 that is was mass produced but still not available?!
Hopefully Apple has this at wwdc 2026
Meaning that the G5 Pro is not going to support Matter in a stand-alone way? As Homey Pro owner I donāt want to buy an extra controller. Any rough ETA when an outdoor, stand-alone, Matter 1.5 WebRTC compatible camera will come available?
Thank you for the update @Aqara_PM_Donie . What about the upcoming G350?
Yes, I think that one also includes āMatterā along with the choice of Thread or Zigbee.
The G350 should get the update too
This is great news, especially seeing WebRTC already baked into Aqara cameras. Makes a lot of sense to lead with new hardware first and be realistic about limits on older models. Appreciate the transparency around HomeKit and cloud storage too. Curious to see how fast the app side catches up across ecosystems.
Aqaraās newly released and launched G350 camera in Chinese Mainland will directly support the Matter 1.5 standard in the first OTA firmware (which will be launched soon). This product is expected to be sold worldwide in early March, when the latest Matter firmware support will be available directly. We are currently testing based on Samsung smartthings App, which is also the first official application in the world that fully supports the Matter Camera. I believe that more and more ecosystems will release their applications that support Matter Camera.
There are many features of Matter Camera, and we will support its release in stages. The initial support includes live streaming, two-way audio, snapshot, and other functions. In the future, we will gradually implement PTZ, events, other features settings, etc. Please follow Aqaraās official release information.
I have g5 Pro PoE. Would love to test.
Hello all friends,
