Tips for Setting Up a Seamless Smart Home System

Has anyone successfully integrated multiple smart home brands into one cohesive system? I’m in the process of setting up my smart home and would love to hear your tips and tricks. I’ve got a mix of devices—some from Wyze, others from Hubitat, and even a few older models. The challenge is getting them all to work together seamlessly.

I’ve started by ensuring all devices are on the same network and have the latest firmware updates. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, especially with the older devices, but I’m making progress. For instance, my Wyze cameras are now integrated with my smart locks, creating a more secure setup.

One thing I’m particularly interested in is optimizing energy efficiency. I’ve heard that smart thermostats can help with this, but I’m not sure how to integrate them with my existing setup. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If anyone has successfully created a unified smart home system, I’d love to hear about your experience. What tools or apps did you find most helpful? Any pitfalls to avoid? Looking forward to your insights!
