Hey everyone! I’ve recently set up the Torque integration in Home Assistant, and I must say, it’s been a great addition to my setup. However, I’ve encountered a couple of issues that I’d love to get some feedback on.
First off, I had to manually add the integration via YAML, which isn’t too bad, but I think it would be awesome if this could be migrated to the front-end setup. All it really needs is an email address from Torque, so it should be pretty straightforward. I’ve looked through the developer docs, but I’m not super familiar with contributing code to HA yet. Maybe someone with more experience could lend a hand?
Another thing I noticed is that the data doesn’t persist across reboots. I found a known issue about this, but it’s marked as stale. It would be fantastic if this could be addressed because it’s a bit frustrating to lose all the vehicle sensors every time the system reboots. Also, the sensors don’t get grouped by integration, which means I have to sift through all my sensors to find the ones from Torque. It would be much easier if they could be filtered by integration instead.
I know the user base for this integration is relatively small, but I think with a bit of work, it could be made even better. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I’d love to hear them! Thanks for the amazing work everyone does on Home Assistant—it truly makes my smart home experience so much better. ![]()
